Music Ministry

Cross-Music-Notes

Welcome to the Music Ministry of St John Neumann!

While our choirs and ensembles provide the musical support to the liturgies here in the Parish, participation in the Music Ministry has the benefit of opening you to a world of warm, welcoming fellowship; a musical environment where all levels of experience and ability are welcomed and nurtured; Liturgies celebrated with a wide, diverse and vibrant selection of music coupled with a dedication to music’s relevance to the scripture and the theme of each Mass.

But the greatest benefit of all is the personal joy of full participation in the Liturgy, while serving God and leading others in worship.

Christina and I welcome and encourage your participation in the Music Ministry.  How do you get involved?  It’s an easy, two-step process!  First, choose among our current opportunities for involvement:

Mass Choir (High School – Adults)  –Wednesday night rehearsal from 7 – 8:30 pm in the choir loft, and singing for the 9am and 11:30am Masses (Choir is excused after the Presentation of the Gifts in the 11:30am Mass)

Girl’s Choir (4th grade – Middle School) – Weekly rehearsal and singing for Masses 2 to 3 times per “semester”.  This choir meets in conjunction with the normal RE schedule.

Then, just let Christina or I know that you would like to be involved and that is it!!  No audition, no lengthy forms, and a guaranteed reserved seat in the choir loft for each Mass. Please email any questions to lhargis@sjnaustin.org

Contact us today, we look forward to meeting you, and for you to join us, as we celebrate the presence of God, “whenever His people, sing His praises!”
