Catholic Services Appeal 2016-2017

Father Bud invites you to participate in our upcoming Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) that helps to sustain Catholic schools, faith formation, ministerial formation, and initiatives for life, peace and justice.

Please make a pledge to the 2016-2017 Catholic Services Appeal. If you have and want to use the CSA envelope, our Diocesan ID# is 190.

If you would like to make an online donation, click here to do so.

Your donations are carefully spent; it is money for God’s work, and we use it accordingly. Your contributions are deeply appreciated, very much needed and make a real difference in the lives of many.

Justice and Charity

Every day, the Diocese of Austin and Catholic Charities of Central Texas provide programs and services that empower individuals and families to work for systemic change toward a more just and caring society.  By providing pastoral care to prisoners, offering support to those suffering from a past abortion, helping women and families facing unplanned pregnancies, and teaching teens the value of chaste living, the Diocese of Austin seeks to bring the Gospel of Life and love “to the heart of every man and woman and to make it penetrate every part of society” (Evangelium Vitae 80).

Spirituality & Worship

The liturgy is the primary way the faithful experience the light of Christ in their lives.  Through service as lectors, extraordinary ministers of holy Communion, musicians, and other liturgical ministers, Catholics throughout the diocese are enhancing the liturgy and manifesting the love of Christ to others. The Office of Worship extends support to all priests and deacons and serves as a resource center for liturgical ministry materials, ministry formation and consultation. The Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center seeks to further the spiritual and intellectual development of God’s people, offering a variety of retreats and programs.

Pastoral Ministries

Every day, the Diocese of Austin welcomes new members into our Catholic family.  Through youth, young adult, and campus ministries, Catholics throughout Central Texas are sharing the light of Christ with young people as they grow in faith. Multicultural ministries provide outreach and evangelization todiverse communities within the diocese, ensuring that the Church remains relevant to the needs and concerns of all Catholics.

Education & Formation

At Baptism we receive the gift of our faith. The formation of Catholic faith in our children is continued through the nurturing role of parents and teachers. Your gift to the CSA provides more than 5,200 children in Catholic schools with the opportunity to practice their faith, study the social teachings of the Church, and encounter Christ.  The CSA also enables the Department of Religious Education and Formation to provide faith education and spiritual formation to parishes, empowering 16,000 parish catechists to be witnesses of Jesus Christ as they educate more than 80,000 children and adults.

Clergy Formation

Through baptism, we are all called to holiness and service in the Church.  Those who receive the call to priestly or religious life are a special gift to the Church.  Your prayers and support are essential as they respond to God’s call to preach the Gospel, sanctify God’s people through the Sacraments and draw believers together.  The Catholic Services Appeal funds the education of seminarians and permanent deacon candidates, and provides for the needs of retired priests.
