Attendance Policy

It is very important that your child attend our Edge sessions each week. Like a subject in school, the content that we discuss builds upon itself. It is important that we understand the foundation so we can continue to grow in knowledge of the faith. We want the students to be on the same page so that we can make the most of the time we have together.

Making-Up Absences

A family may make- up a missed session by contacting Samantha Delfin, the Director of Middle School Youth Ministry, to receive a copy of the session’s content. The parent/ teen is asked to discuss the content of the session (discussion questions and application activities are included in the outline) and provide Samantha with a summary of the discussion between parent and teen before the next EDGE sessionThe absence will then be marked as excused. If a student has more than three unexcused absences, he/ she will be asked to participate in our Home Study program (see below) for the year of faith formation participation to be considered sufficient.

Home Study Program

An alternative to attending the weekly Edge sessions is our Home Study program. This program is composed of three parts. (1) The parent/ student will receive a textbook and workbook and be expected to go over the content and activities of one unit per month. (2) The parent/ student will receive the Edge curriculum for the year and discuss the content the Edge sessions in a given month. (3) The parent/ teen will schedule a monthly meeting with Samantha to discuss the topics of the month.
