Upcoming retreats at Cedarbrake Retreat Center in Belton

Listening to the Voice of God Retreat will be held Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary Parish in Waco. Participants are invited to grow in a deeper relationship with God by learning how the Lord speaks in our everyday life. Franciscan Father Albert Haase will present this day based on his best-selling book, “Saying Yes: Discovering and Responding to God’s Will in Your Life.” The cost is $30 and includes lunch. The Shepherd Who Did Not Run, a weekend retreat, will be held Sept. 29 – Oct. 1 at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Belton. The book, “The Shepherd Who Did Not Run,” by Maria Scaperlanda is based on the life of Father Stanley Rother who was recently declared the first U.S. born martyr by Pope Francis. His beatification Mass will be held in Oklahoma City, on Sept 23. Scaperlanda will present Father Rother’s story of heroic service to the people of Guatemala and her experience of the beatification ceremony. Cost is $195 for a shared room and $95 for commuter. The 100 Years of Our Lady of Fatima retreat will be held at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Belton on Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In the spring of 1917, three children reported a vision of a beautiful lady in Fatima, Portugal. The last time the Blessed Mother appeared to them was Oct. 13, 1917. Brian Egan, Beverly Collin and Deacon Klaus Adam will lead the day. The cost is $40 and includes lunch.
