The process through which people become Catholic is currently called “The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults,” or RCIA. Just as the first-century Christians heard the Good News – the Gospel – about Jesus, we spend time introducing non-baptized persons to Jesus Christ and his Church. As with most official Church documents, the official text for Christian Initiation was written in Latin and translated into English and other languages. There is now an updated translation of this and many other liturgical texts. “The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults,” or OCIA, is completed. We will implement the newly translated rites as contained in the OCIA.
