Thank you for taking our Gallup Faith Member engagement survey in October of 2024 and 2023.This is our second year doing the survey. We started this as part of our efforts to revitalize our parish, a process we call Divine Renovation. Having a baseline measure of “engagement” helps keep us accountable as a parish. Research shows that a more engaged parish makes a bigger impact for parishioners and in the world, which is our desire here at St. John Neumann.
Engagement overall went from 24% in 2023 to 34% in 2024 – a significant growth of 10% in the number of engaged parishioners.
Not Engaged from 40% to 47% - which represents 7% positive movement from actively disengaged to not engaged, which is also significant progress as it denotes more of our community are shifting from feeling like this is not their home towards a more neutral place where we have the opportunity to draw them in.
Actively Disengaged went from 27% to 19%, a significant 8% drop.
Next Steps
Our lowest scores were around spiritual progress
Survey acknowledged that we have many opportunities to learn and grow here, but then begs us to ask the question – Are we actually making progress in our spiritual growth?
[Agent of our formation is the Holy Spirit with our cooperation]
Provide opportunities to prayerfully reflect together on our spiritual growth and then celebrate our personal and collective spiritual progress
Create a volunteer committee in January to:
Define spiritual progress
Define a process to track our community's spiritual progress
Please pray to discern if you would like to participate in this important work
Also, we always welcome your feedback and have a page on our website for parishioners to let us know their thoughts beyond the survey.
