Fr. Kris joined us at St. John Neumann as the new associate pastor on January 3rd.
Fr. Kris Louis Aneke was born in Lagos on February 8, 1969, to the family of Mr. Louis Usifo Aneke and Catherine Dada Aneke (both deceased). His father hails from Amomaigi quarters while his mother is from Ekpecho in Ebu Town, Oshimili North Local Government of Delta State. He is the first of eight children.
His desire for the priesthood began as an Altar Server under Msgr. Michael Omisesan at Holy Family Catholic Church Festac Town, Lagos. The attraction to the missionary priesthood began also as an Altar server under Fr. John Burke of the Society of African Mission (SMA). Fr Burke alongside Fr. Emmanuel Isi, MSP encouraged him to join the Missionary Society of St Paul. He was admitted in 1989 into the initial two-year formation program at the National Missionary Seminary of St. Paul, Iperu-Remo, Ogun State.
At the end of the two-year program, he proceeded to the Abuja Campus of the National Missionary Seminary of St. Paul, Gwagwalada. It was there that he did his Philosophical studies (1990-1993) and Theological studies (1993 -1997). He successfully completed his theological studies with a bachelor’s degree from the Pontifical Urban University, Rome in 1997.
At the completion of his seminary training, Kris was sent to Abuja Archdiocese and Minna Diocese for pastoral experience before his ordination. He was ordained on July 3, 1999. He is currently rounding off his master’s program in Theology with specialization in Canon Law at St. Augustine college of South Africa (Catholic University).
Fr. Kris is a lover of sports (Soccer, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis and loves his personal time in the gym) He also loves listening to music, traveling, adventure, working with youths and cherishes his personal time for meditations.
